The attention of Oyo state Road Transport Management Authority has been drawn to a road traffic accident at Molete roundabout, Ibadan.

The accident which according to eyewitnesses reports occured in the early hours of today.

The accident which involves a loaded articulated Leyland DAF truck which reportedly suffered brake failure and had an head-on collision with a stationary object directly under the bridge.

In his reaction to the incident, the Chairman Oyostate road management authority, Mogaji Akin Fagbemi, ordered immediate deployment of more men and officers as well as heavy duty towing trucks to the affected area.

He further noted that efforts are being intensified to evacuate the truck at this hour pending further investigations into the incident.

Fagbemi implored motorists plying the route to drive slowly and carefully around the Molete roundabout, on and beneath the bridge at the location.

According to the agency, it was reported that were no casualty at the scene.

“Vigilance of everyone is safety for all while negligence of anyone portends danger to all.
