A fierce gun battle, between the gallant soldiers of the Nigerian Army and criminal elements, known as bandits, terrorizing the Allawa community, in Shiroro Local Government Area of Niger State, has led to the death of scores of terrorists.
Information gathered also confirmed that, while some bandits were killed, others escaped with various degree of injuries.
Unfortunately again, some of the criminal elements, who had earlier survived the ordeal in the area, and others fleeing from Zamfara and Katsina states, ran into the military camp stationed at Allawa, where they were severely dealt with by the military forces at Maganda village, near Allawa community.
Although, it is not so clear, how many soldiers were affected in the incident, but reports have it that, not only were the bandits thoroughly dealt with, but that arms and ammunition were also recovered from them during the operation; from machine guns to a number of AK-47 riffles.
Recall that, Military Base in Allawa, was in April, attacked by bandits, who killed about 6 of the security operatives and razed the camp.
